Transverse Myelits

On Super bowl Sunday I started experiencing some pain and numbness in my back and shoulder blades. The best way for my to describe the numbness is that it feels like I have an epidural in my back. When I first went to the doctor he thought that I could have shingles. I was a little freak out but after a few days there was no rash. So we did after blood work which came back fine. Then x-rays which just showed some mild degeneration in my lumbar's. Then an MRI and it showed deteration in my neck . And I also tryed a corazon shot which didn't change anything.
So today I got seen by a Neurologist. And I finally got some answers. I found out that I have something called Transverse myelitis (TM) is a neurological condition that causes abnormal inflammation in the spinal cord, which cause there to be blocking in the nerve impulses. TM is a rare disease, with a frequency estimated to be five new cases for every one million people. TM can affect anybody, regardless of age, gender, or race. So far I don't have any other changes like weakness in the arms or legs , Muscle spasms.
My doctor has told me that the MRI didn't show any tumors, a herniated disc, or abscess compressing the spinal cord. But I'm trying to find all the information that I can about this.
So the plan is to try some nerve pills to see if it will take the numbness and pain away. But if nothing changes, the pain and numbness gets worse. Then the next step will be an MRI on the brain and a spinal tap. I will be trying the medicine for 6 weeks. So until then I will be waiting.

Relay For Life: A&KWarriors

This year family and friends are coming together to do Relay For Life in memory of Alison and our cousin Kelley. This will be held in Rushville on June 13th and it starts at 8am and will end June14th 8am. Are team name is A&KWarriors. We would love for all that can be involved to become a member of our team. If you have never been a part of Relay I think it's something that you should do at least once in your life. But if that is not possible then please go to the web site and make a donation or buy a luminary. You also can buy butterflies and have them be released in memory or honor of someone. Which I think is really cool, they will all be let go at the same time. And all the money for that is also donated. If you have any question please email me and I can help you out. We need to all come together and make the biggest impact on cancer research.

If you click on the logo that I have added to my blog it will take you to our team page.

Feeling no good

Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still here. the house has and is been sick for the past week. It started with Alysa and chastity and now Chad and I have it. the girls started running high fevers last Saturday afternoon. So by the time Monday came I got them both into the doctor. And of course it was flu plus really bad coughs with it. So I pushed the fluids and Alyssa missed school both days last week. But she was A LOT better by Thursday afternoon. By Thursday morning Chad had got it and by that afternoon so did I. Chastity wasn't getting any better still high fever at times it was up to 104 and that was with Tylenol and Ibuprofen. She wasn't eating anything and we had to push it for her to even want to drink. She wouldn't even eat candy that's how sick she was. At times she has cough so hard that she has threw up. So Chad, Chastity and I all went to the doctor on Friday and Chad and I have sinus infections with the flu. And Chastity still had the flu with an ear infection plus the REALLY bad cough. She also has lost 4 pounds. We are all on medicine and feeling a little better. Today for the fist time in a week Chastity ate lunch, dinner and no fever. I am so glad that my little girl is feeling better.

Happy 89th Birthday Grandma

My Grandma celebrated her 89th Birthday on Thursday. So we had a surprise 89th Birthday for my Grandma yesterday at my Aunt Nancey's house. We had a big lunch, cake, and lots of laughs. It was great to see a lot of the family. Alyssa just adores Great Na-Na (that's what Chastity and Alyssa call her.) Hope that you enjoy the pictures.

CaBiN fEvEr PaRtY

My brother Brian had a CaBiN fEvEr PaRtY on Saturday. We had a blast like always. Tons of food, played cards, drank, and we even had FIREWORKS. It was nice to get out of the house and have an evening away from the kiddies. Steven even came down which it was great to see him. It was a great way to end the month.
